Stay POSITIVE + Keep It Moving During Lockdown ✨

Hi everyone!

Happy Sunday!

I have had a lot a questions come in about how to keep it moving during lockdown. It’s pretty well known that exercise is really good for both our physical and mental health, for reducing stress in particular, but right now it feels as though we are so limited in what we can do. People have been asking me: What are you doing and what would you recommend?

My top daily exercises at the moment are:

  1. Getting out for my walk/jog/run
  2. Yoga, gentle stretches & breath work (every other day)
  3. Sit ups/crunches/planks outside in my yard
  4. Strength training with weights, but you can use household objects (arms, glutes and abs)
  5. Dancing around my bedroom to my awesome “Morning Motivation” playlist
  6. Jumping on my rebounder (a.k.a. mini trampoline) to some great music (I keep it going for 20-30 minutes)
  7. Hill sprints on a hill near me (every other day)
  8. Cooking – this is physical!
  9. Walking around my place when I’m on the phone instead of sitting still
  10. Sunday Zoom workouts with Fajr Bashir

I hope that this list is helpful and gives you some ideas on how to keep it moving during lockdown! I’m so physically active so I MUST move or I’d feel super groggy and gross! And these days we have be creative and innovative with our exercise!

So if you’re looking to get started and don’t know what to do – all of those activities are worth trying. Further to that, I would love to personally invite you – no matter what your fitness level – to a fun, free 30-minute Zoom workout this Sunday at 10 am ????. I know there are a lot of free online workout sessions available now and you might feel overwhelmed about which one to choose or what’s going to work for you…so I’ve tested out a few and I recommend this one for everyone. It’s just 30 minutes, you don’t need any equipment, and you don’t have to download Zoom to your computer at all – Fajr will send you a link when you email her and you just click on that and it will open up and you then follow the prompts… Be sure to do that at least 10 minutes before the class starts if it’s your first time.

HERE’S MY REVIEW FROM THIS PAST SUNDAY’S ZOOM BODY MOVEMENT SESSION:

I really enjoyed this Zoom session workout this morning with personal trainer Fajr Bashir!! Her happiness and positivity are contagious ✨and the workout was fun, uplifting, great for all fitness levels, and all you need is a towel or mat!! No equipment required – Easy! As an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach I have to say that physical activity is a “primary food” that we all need to nourish ourselves, and movement is sooooo important these days with the lockdown in place, right?!

I would encourage you to join in next week at 10 AM on Sunday(s) for a Free & Fun 30 Minute Exercise Session – I’ll be there! Just email info@fajrbashir.com to get the link. You can join from anywhere in the world too – hello Vancouver! ⚡⭐✔

Stay safe & healthy everyone – and keep that body moving!
